Sometimes you don’t get a
choice… rhythm chooses you!!! Jo was born on August 22, 1986, in
Kansas City, Missouri. It became more than apparent around the
time he was 2-3 years old, that this little boy was in love with
music. Especially the drums. Whether it was fly-swatters, pens,
spoons, even pots and pans. Not much could deter this little
drummer boy from making some noise!!!! Jo moved to Austin, Texas
in the summer of 2007 and that is where all the incessant work
came to fruition. He played with many acts in the Texas circuit,
in every style imaginable. From the raw aggression of metal band,
Skull Bangers. To the soothing soulful sound of James Moran. To
the old time rock and roll vibe of Luke Zen and The Naked Lip. As
well as studying under drum guru Trevor Detling.

Jo moved to Atlanta, Georgia
later that year to continue his journey in music. He quickly
picked up lots of projects in the Atlanta area. From the soulful
groove of R&B sensation Joseph Walker, to the pummeling sound
of Industrial/Metal band Inviolate, to the laid back pocket of
Brett Ryan’s blues band. As well as several various musicians
and groups, never turning an opportunity down to play, to
progress, and to hopefully enrich the lives of those in
attendance. Soon, he found himself torn between several projects
requesting his full-time attention.
Jo found a wonderful home
playing for the Pop/Rock 4-piece band Pistol Town. An infectious
band with electrifying shows, viral melodies, driving guitars, and
thunderous drums. The band is touring non-stop promoting their
latest album ‘Days Away’. Steadily climbing the pop/rock
charts the guys are hoping to continue the momentum of 2011 into
the following year and show no signs of slowing down. Check em’

Jo cites the those who have
influenced his drumming the most as Morgan Rose, Benny Greb,
Thomas Lang, JoJo Mayer, John Bonham, Terry Bozzio, Trevor Detling,
Kent Aberle, and Joel Perdue.
